Columbia River Gorge Interpretive Center Museum Chooses CampRes parent company, Emagineering

An exquisite piece of Northwest history is using the latest in internet technology to reach out with the launch of an all-new web site. Its director says a visit through the Columbia River Gorge Interpretive Center Museum’s site comes provocatively close to a stroll through the popular Stevenson, Wash. attraction.

The site is the creation of Bend, Oregon-based Emagineering, LLC, whose team designed and developed the site located at http://www.columbiagorge.org. Technical and creative options including web design, hosting, and e-commerce services also are being provided by Emagineering, the parent company of CampRes, a web design and marketing provider serving the outdoor hospitality industry.

The museum’s site includes but goes far beyond basic information such as driving directions, hours and admission prices. Breathtaking photography, including a full photo gallery, highlights pages exploring regional and museum history, detailed profiles about each exhibit and a calendar of upcoming area events.

The (Emagineering team) has done a fantastic job,” said Sharon Tiffany, museum director. “Now we’ve just got to do our part and keep it updated – but we’re learning quickly, thanks to the support from Emagineering and the great software.”

Tiffany said she’s not intimidated by the state-of-the-art site’s upkeep. “I’m not a computer person and I found Emagineering’s software incredibly user friendly,” Tiffany said. Moreover, “I think that’s going to be the most surprising aspect for people visiting the site the first time. It’s so easy to navigate.”

Visitors will find they can easily and securely buy museum T-shirts and other merchandise at the online museum store or sign up to receive a regular museum newsletter via email. Sections designed just for educators and children, complete with printable coloring pages of exhibit items, are a special treat.

Established in 1998, Emagineering, LLC is a leading web design and marketing company offering internet software development, marketing, and web hosting to travel and recreation-oriented clients.

The museum’s site reflects the experience Emagineering’s team continues to glean from work on a wide variety of projects, from web site design and development and marketing packages for travel destinations like the museum to single campgrounds, RV parks, hotels and resort communities. Web portfolio packages for larger industry associations and companies like Adventure Bound Camping Resorts, TradeWinds Island Resorts, and Equity LifeStyles also have been created.

Tiffany is expecting to see powerful results from the new Emagineering-produced site. “It’s going to give us a better representation to the public because the previous one was very simple and unexciting,” she said.

I think this will really attract people’s attention and answer a lot of questions about who we are and what we are,” Tiffany predicted. “I think it will do a lot for us in attracting people to this area as well as the museum.”
